Here is a tip for middle schoolers: Love studying enough to be able to do it on a regular basis. One regret I have is not instilling a strong enough work ethic and dedication while I was young. If you get accustomed to it and do it for years, or become passionate for a certain subject, for example, physics, then studying will be easier for you in high school. And I think you have to adopt a certain mentality in order to juggle extracurricular activities, homework, projects, hobbies, and studying time. If you can make studying a natural activity (because I know for most people who only study at the last minute when an exam or something comes up, it is hard to actually get into it), then you will feel more prepared for exams and have more time for other things. Plus, keeping knowledge in your head is an important part of youth. Get as much as you can out of school!
The fall season of Japanese cartoons has begun, with a beautiful assortment of shows, some being originals and others second seasons. Here are a couple I have been squealing (not like a pig) fervently for: Yuri!! on ice, Magical Girl Raising Project, Izetta: The Last Witch, Bungou Stray Dogs Season 2, Hibike! Euphonium Season 2, Bloodivores, All Out!!, and Flip Flappers. I am most excited for Yuri!! on ice, an original cartoon series centered on figure skating. The trailers awed me. I loved the animation; I felt it was really magnificent and aesthetically pleasing. Now, I am in a state of figure skating euphoria. The first episode of Yuri!! on ice was great!
Stars:

The Epic of Gilgamesh

My mom has been influenced by the Halloween spirit. This week, she bought a Haunted House Chocolate Cookie Kit and a box of Unreal Supernatural Candy. Because chocolate candy is so otherworldly.
For Halloween, I am going to dress up as a pirate! Time for poet blouse hunting!
I never thought that I would see my old dragon necklace, one that I got when I was little, again, but I did. My mom really shocked me with this one: when we were in our garage, she suddenly asked, "I was wondering, but is this yours?" and pulled out my necklace. She informed me that it had been in one of her jacket's pocket. How strange! I had not seen it for years, not since middle school. Well, guess who is never going to lose it again.
Here is a short haiku by Madame Ate:
Winter Is Hot
The guard of winter
Been two months incognito
For it is still hot.
If you live in Orange County (or maybe this is a California thing), then you will understand.
The Fizzing Bath Bombs from Whole Foods are nice! I used the Milk & Honey one yesterday; awesome! It had a pleasant scent, just enough sweetness. Today I will try the Oatmeal Shea one.
I am looking forward to the presidential debate tomorrow!
